Thaddeus Lawrence is an adventure philanthropist who has raced 1,000 kilometres in the hottest, coldest, windiest and driest deserts on earth: the Sahara, Antarctica, Gobi, and Atacama. Through this competition rated by TIME magazine as one of its Top Ten Endurance Competitions in the world, Thaddeus has raised close to $200,000 for charitable organisations. He authored a book "Runaway Success: Life Lessons from Ultra Endurance Racing" distilling his lessons from the race world into principles for the real world. TEDxSingapore celebrated its 4rd anniversary by curating our 21st TEDx event since our launch on 15 April 2009. "Our Future, We Will Make" asked What shall we strive for? What makes us successful? ...as a country, as a community, as a family, as individuals. What does success mean? What Singapore would we be proud to build for Singaporeans who will come after us? What deeply matters to you? What are our possibilities? Founded in April 2009, we are 100% Community-Created. Express your passion and inspiration with us, visit us at www.TEDxSingapore.sg In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
